Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as we travel north toward Michigan to begin our Great Lakes adventure. Along the way, we'll make convenient comfort stops and have time to purchase lunch before arriving in Grand Rapids this evening. After checking into our hotel, enjoy the remainder of the night to relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Tuesday: June 8, 2027

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the vibrant city of Grand Rapids. Stroll through the stunning Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, where beautiful botanical gardens and world-renowned sculptures create a peaceful and inspiring setting. Then, enjoy a guided tour of the city before visiting the lively Downtown Market, where you'll have time to browse local vendors, sample regional flavors, and shop for unique treats and gifts. This evening, return to the hotel to relax after a wonderful day of sightseeing.

Wednesday: June 9, 2027

Today, journey north through Michigan to picturesque Mackinaw City before boarding the ferry to enchanting Mackinac Island. Leave the cars behind as you arrive in this timeless destination, where horse-drawn carriages, historic architecture, and breathtaking waterfront views set the stage for an unforgettable stay. After checking into your island hotel, enjoy the evening at your leisure to stroll the charming streets, browse the unique shops, or simply relax and soak in the island's one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

Thursday: June 10, 2027

Today, a horse-drawn carriage will pick us up at the hotel for a narrated tour of Mackinac Island before we enjoy lunch at the world-famous Grand Hotel, featured in the film Somewhere in Time. After lunch, you'll have free time to explore the hotel, relax on the iconic Grand Porch, or discover the Secret Garden. Please note that the Grand Hotel maintains a daytime resort dress code (casual resort attire; no cut-off shorts, sweatpants, sleeveless shirts for men, or midriff-baring tops). The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy the island at your leisure. Visit Fort Mackinac or the Butterfly House, sample the famous fudge shops, rent a bicycle, or simply relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere as horse-drawn carriages clip-clop through the charming streets.

Friday: June 11, 2027

After a relaxing morning, we'll bid farewell to beautiful Mackinac Island and board the ferry back to the mainland. As we make our way toward Dearborn, we'll stop in the charming Bavarian town of Frankenmuth for a delicious family-style chicken lunch at the famous Zehnder's Restaurant, a Michigan tradition since 1856. Take a little time to browse the quaint shops before continuing to Dearborn.

Saturday: June 12, 2027

Immerse yourself in the people, places, and innovations that shaped our nation during a full day at two of Michigan's most celebrated attractions. Discover groundbreaking inventions, iconic automobiles, and remarkable pieces of American history at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Then, stroll through Greenfield Village, an immersive living history museum where historic homes, working farms, skilled artisans, and vintage transportation bring the past to life.

Sunday: June 13, 2027

After breakfast, we'll depart Dearborn and begin our trip home. We'll make scheduled comfort and meal stops along the way, giving everyone time to relax before arriving home later this afternoon with memories of a wonderful week exploring Michigan and Mackinac Island.
